How to make it
Steep 5–10 g dried 紫苏叶 with 2–3 slices ginger in covered just-boiled water 10 min. Drink warm, wrapped up, early in a chilly cold.
Why it works
Warm fluids and steam do measurable, if modest, work on nasal and throat symptoms.
Classical source
紫苏 is 名医别录, not the Shennong Bencao Jing.
Cautions: Warming and dispersing — not for a hot, dry, red-throat cold. Skip if sweating heavily or feverish.
