Hawthorn — a modest heart adjunct 山楂:温和的护心辅助

Heart & Circulation 心脏·循环 early evidence
What the evidence says:
Western hawthorn (leaf/flower extract) has some trial evidence as an ADD-ON for mild heart failure symptoms and modest effects on blood pressure/lipids. The Chinese fruit 山楂 is milder and mainly digestive. Adjunct only.

How to make it

A hawthorn tea after meals for digestion; standardised Western-hawthorn extract only under medical guidance if you have heart disease.

Why it works

Supports, does not replace, a heart-healthy diet.

Classical source

山楂 moves blood and food stagnation; Western hawthorn is a heart tonic in European herbalism.

Cautions: Real heart disease needs a cardiologist. Hawthorn can interact with heart/BP drugs — coordinate with your doctor; never self-manage heart failure.
