How to make it
Steep 3–10 g 藿香 with 2–3 slices fresh ginger in covered just-boiled water 8–10 min. Sip warm and slowly.
Why it works
Small, frequent sips of warm fluid are the actual first-line for a queasy gut; the herbs make it pleasant enough to keep sipping.
Classical source
藿香 is a Tang-era addition, NOT in the Shennong Bencao Jing.
Cautions: Aromatic and drying — caution with yin deficiency or heat without damp. Vomiting with blood, severe abdominal pain, signs of dehydration, or diarrhoea beyond a couple of days needs medical care, especially in children and older adults.
